Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, store and protect your data. Last updated: 2 June 2026.

1. Who we are

aime ("we", "us", "our") is the teacher-facing layer of aime52.ai, operated by aime Education Ltd. We are registered in the United Kingdom. Our registered office is in London, UK. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at privacy@aime.education.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to provide our service: • Account data: name, email address, school name, and password (encrypted). • Workspace data: lesson plans, pupil notes, timetable references and any content you create within aime. • Usage data: feature interactions, error logs and performance metrics to improve the product. • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type and operating system (via standard server logs).

3. How we use your data

We use your data only to: • Provide, maintain and improve the aime service. • Personalise your workspace and lesson-planning experience. • Send essential service updates and optional product newsletters (which you can unsubscribe from at any time). • Ensure security, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your content to train AI models. Your prompts, lesson plans and pupil notes are never fed into public or third-party model training pipelines.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under UK and EU data-protection law, we process personal data on the following legal bases: • Contract performance — to deliver the aime service you signed up for. • Legitimate interests — for security, analytics and product improvement. • Consent — for optional marketing communications. • Legal obligation — where required by law or regulatory authority.

5. Data sharing and sub-processors

We do not sell your data. We share it only with: • Cloud infrastructure providers (hosting and storage). • AI model providers (for generating lesson content) under strict data-processing agreements. • Analytics providers (aggregate, anonymised data only). • Legal or regulatory authorities when required by law. All sub-processors are bound by contracts that meet UK GDPR and EU GDPR standards.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove identifiable personal data within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained for product analytics.

7. Your rights

You have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data. • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"). • Restrict or object to certain processing. • Export your data in a portable format. • Withdraw consent for marketing communications. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@aime.education. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We protect your data with: • TLS 1.3 encryption in transit. • AES-256 encryption at rest. • Role-based access controls and regular penetration testing. • ISO 27001-aligned information-security management. While we take every reasonable precaution, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

aime hosts data in the UK and EU. Where we use sub-processors outside these regions, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions to ensure your data receives equivalent protection.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as our service evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice. The date at the bottom of this page shows when it was last updated.
